Budva, believe it or not the name Budva derives from the word BUTUA. Legend tells that this was a word for the bull coach. On this coach, the son of the Fenetian king Kadmo came in Budva with his wife Harmonia after their banishing from Teba. The history of Budva can be identified with history of other middle age towns in Montenegro.
The conquers who conquered this town left their influences in Budva as well. The mixture of different cultures is best visible in the old town Kastel Budva. Iliran, Roman, Bizant, Greek cultures are just some of the cultures present in architecture of the old town.
